Community Workshop: Flower Empowerment

Date & Time:

September 21 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join the Occupy Madison team for a free workshop and experience the many ways flowers can empower and build community by creating art with us! There will be demonstrations in making watercolors, flower crowns, and fabric art from easy-to-grow flowers. There will also be face painting for the young and young at heart, live painting of the gardens with Andre Ferrela, and a medicinal tea workshop. Expect to spend 15-20 minutes at each station to learn the basic skills to create your project, or plan a little more time to create something more elaborate. Each station will be working on a rolling basis, and participants are welcome to come as they are and arrive when they can. Supplies will be provided, and all ages are welcome. Please bring a bag or backpack since you may have a small project to take home.

Occupy Madison is a local non-profit dedicated to creating community, housing opportunities, and more. There will be bouquets, medicinal teas, and hand crafted items such as cutting boards, wreathes, ornaments, jewelry, and photography made by Occupy Madison for sale at this event to support their work.

Thursday September 21, 4:00pm-7:00pm. 502 Troy Drive, Madison. Follow the signs for the workshop. Meet under the yellow and white tent. Please RSVP here.
