Troy Kids’ Garden Manager

The Troy Kids’ Garden Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Troy Kids’ Garden program, Rooted in Culture cooking clubs, and supporting educational programming at the Madison School Farm. Troy Kids’ Garden collaborates closely with our Madison School Farm program, with staff from both sites working together to offer programming 2 days per week each at Troy Kids’ Garden and Madison School Farm during the growing season (April through October). During the winter months, educational programming is brought to partner community centers through the Rooted in Culture cooking clubs.

Garden Educator–Full Season

Garden Educators will work at both the Troy Kids’ Garden and Madison School Farm. Both programs serve youth ages 3 through 18 with outdoor, garden-based learning. At each site, educators lead small groups of youth in gardening, cooking, animal care, outdoor art, and other hands-on activities.

AmeriCorps Farm to School Specialist

Rooted is seeking candidates for AmeriCorps Farm to School Specialist positions with our Farm to School Program. specific duties for this position include: Leading an after school gardening club on Mondays and after school cooking club on Wednesdays at La Follette High School, leading garden and nutrition/ cooking classes at Schenk Elementary School, and working at Rooted’s youth garden sites, including Madison School Farm and Troy Kids’ Garden, to support garden-based programming as needed in spring and 20-30 hours/ week June through August. This position and the service term run until August 14, 2025, with an average of approximately 20-25 hours per week.

Troy Farm Full Season Crew Member

This position is seasonal and spans March 24 – October 31, 2025. Working side-by-side with farmers and staff, crew members engage in small-scale, organic, and sustainable farming practices to grow a wide range of crops and help with the daily tasks of the farm.
